Busy, busy, busy. Oh, what a busy bee.
My goodness, it seems an age since I blogged, but it is only 9 days. Lots to say so here goes, hope you enjoy.
Firstly, I was so happy when I spoke to my daughter on her birthday on the 1st, and the fact she told me she would come over for a flying visit at the end of March. She will be staying in Latsi, which is new territory for her.
This week has been a shock after the disaster of the earthquake. We had small tremors in Cyprus but the sea is very angry with big, rough and noisy waves hitting the beach area in Argaka. Lots of turtles have been washed up which is so sad. What can I say how I feel about the victims? Words are not enough.
Back to Cyprus and heavy rain. At our local Hospice charity shop the basement flooded which resulted in the loss of a big chunk of their stock stored there. The local community have rallied round with new donation. Their fund raising is, like all charities, so important and we happily support them in small ways. Lots of small ways added together make a difference.
I am pleased to say I have found a painter, decorator and builder all in one. He has recently moved to the area. We needed a repair job on a badly painted wall, no hassle, estimate, deal made, day agreed. That’s the way to do it. Picture of completed works in due course. Should have taken ‘before’ pictures. Never mind.
Not exactly hobbies, but stuff to do.
Board games. A new get together to play board games has been arranged by a local lady. I have been twice now, and apart from early nerves (not having socialised for nearly three years) it is a good way to explore new things. I have been re-learning backgammon on my iPad, having played some years ago, and was pleased to be paired with another newby. We met another couple. One very experienced and the other just like me, learning.
Next week we will change to play the other two. Should be an experience.
The plastic project is a slow work in progress. Still getting together bits and bobs for painting, but did manage to get some small pots of acrylic paint.
Of course there is always the colouring. Funnily enough it is quite brain storming. Trying to get colours right and mixing colour pencils and sort of paint pens, which give the picture some depth.
The garden is very much on hold now until it is time to get first plugs for planting. Lots of ideas for this year as I learnt a lot about what is good and not so good, or too many to handle. Although a lot did get frozen. We are on the last leg of the spring onions and courgettes. Been a lifesaver some times.
Very much enjoying the log burner and how lucky we are to have it.
Well, I think that is about it for today. I hope you enjoyed it and will blog again soon.
Excellent blog post! Really happy to hear you went to the games night! And can't wait to see you in a few weeks x oh and the art is looking smashing
