Birthday boy and visit from daughter (and friend)

Mr D another year older, but, as he would tell you, still younger than me. Becky and friend arrived from England, checked into their villa and made their way to us. Champagne, splendid Chinese food from The Farmyard, sunshine, good company.  What more can I ask for. I managed to break a (front) tooth the other day so I’m off to the dentist this afternoon! Joy. Be careful what you wish for . Happy days to you all.

Being an introvert I am not particularly bothered but wish Mr D had been offered a helping hand occasionally.   But Team Douglas survived again. I have been able to make a gentle start on preparing the garden for an exciting season this year.  I was recommended a gardener who has already made a big difference.  I have never seen a gardener work so hard and keep a smile on his face. We are looking forward to warmer days and finding somewhere for us to enjoy the occasional glass of wine and beer at one of the local restaurants. Our usual haunt has, over the last
