So sad ….

Unfortunately I shall not be able to push my blog in the future.  Due to the mafia who decides who can or cannot post on a local site to get around Facebook rules about blogs, they have decided I have been a very naughty girl and will have my blogs and posts on her site “monitored “ for the next month. Well, stuff her.  I will be putting together an alternative page to hers where people have a bit of credibility for their postings. Nothing personal. Don’t take it the wrong way. Hope to see you all on the other side. Thanks for still reading the blog. Any comments welcome.

It’s the Orange Blossom Special

Image
Orange blossom for the first time on our tree. I am so pleased with this, and the rest of our little piece of heaven. Next stage will be salads, tomatoes, (three types) peppers, spring onions, courgettes ( but not as many as last year!) Also hoping to refresh the herb garden, and try my hand at chilli. That should keep me busy. Just a quick update on the bird feeder.  We are getting loads of birds.   They lurk on a bush outside the fence and come over mob handed.  But they do clean up after themselves by pecking all the seed that falls on the ground. Happy days. The recycling site still just about going, but not much going on apart from me clearing out some unwanted things.  Keep them out of the land fill. Don’t give up. Thanks for reading, see you soon.

Helping hands…

I have never liked asking people for help.  It is just one of those things.  Stubborn, to a fault.   Well, that changed this week.   I have been mentally planning this year’s garden for months.  I learnt so much last year that I think (and hope) this year will be the best ever. A couple of years ago our then gardeners installed an irrigation system for me.   Last year there were several alternatives for the placement of pots, so bits and bobs were added and taken away. It doesn’t do this year as I have a better idea what and where I want things. I went to the irrigation shop and got this, another trip and I got that, on yet another trip I got ‘the other’ to complete the trio. Then I found out I was not strong enough to do some of the jobs, and it was all looking very messy.  I was getting quite stressed and upset.  Silly, you may think.  But I get like this now.  I think it’s one of the results of restricted life through Covid.  People react differently. I was really disappointed tha

Get ready for (predicted) coptic

Hi everybody, I hope all my viewers are well, and enjoying spring. I have been busy with the garden on stage one of this year’s efforts.  Mainly focusing on flowers and the bird feeding station and water point. The feeding station took a while, but now we have maybe as many as 7 or 8 actually in the tray at one time, with the clean up brigade who keep the ground around tidy.  Sad to say no photos, you can hardly breathe without disturbing them. Funny thing is they seem to have their regular feeding times. Looks a bit like a loo, but it includes a bottle to keep their feed in. Our orange tree, which we have had for about four years, has masses of buds ready to burst.  Patience!   Not bad for a pot grown little tree. Not fab pics, but working on it We have spent a good half hour locking down the garden in readiness for tomorrow’s high winds.  Parasols, chairs, plant pots moved to safety, and so on. You can only do what you can.  After that I expect it will be glorious sunshine. My lovel
