I love spray paint!

Image
I have used spray paint for the first time and wore all protective clothing and face mask.   I am addicted! Next stop, resurrect old plastic flower pots from nursery, ready to plant with cuttings from succulents.   May be a fund raiser for Hospice shop in Polis. At last, four redundant terra cotta pots, redundant casserole lid, plant tray from Ayia Marina Nursery, two cans of spray paint, small stones for bird bath, empty 7up bottle for bird seed.  Twitching and tweaking, shifting to best position, and loving tiny birds visiting in the morning. A bit unsure of actual feeding station, but top of the fence and ground seems to suit them. Hear tell swifts (or swallows) are back, so may get a visit. Have really enjoyed this project. On to the next one.

It’s Garden Playtime ….

Who remembers Bill and Ben with Little Weed? Such innocence.  Well, that is how I see looking after my garden, and fun and exciting, but without their hats.   When a new bloom appears on a flower, looking forward to seeing how something turns out, planning what to do.   Especially this year after all the inspiration of last year with Gerald, the gardener. I have been mentally planning the garden and making a bird bath and feeding station.   It was going to be from the mountain of plastic which was collected over one month from our house.  Unfortunately, everything I looked at on Google, and, trust me, there were a lot of ideas, did not fit in with my ideas. I spotted one clip which showed a bird bath being made which left me with a plan. Oh, really pleased now. Two sets of redundant terra cotta plant pots, a stiff brush and some spray on acrylic paint. Once painted, one upside down and the other on top with a few big stones to weight it. An un-used casserole lid, sprayed on the undersi

Busy, busy, busy. Oh, what a busy bee.

My goodness, it seems an age since I blogged, but it is only 9 days.  Lots to say so here goes, hope you enjoy. Firstly, I was so happy when I spoke to my daughter on her birthday on the 1st, and the fact she told me she would come over for a flying visit at the end of March.  She will be staying in Latsi, which is new territory for her. This week has been a shock after the disaster of the earthquake.  We had small tremors in Cyprus but the sea is very angry with big, rough and noisy waves hitting the beach area in Argaka.  Lots of turtles have been washed up which is so sad.  What can I say how I feel about the victims?  Words are not enough. Back to Cyprus and heavy rain. At our local Hospice charity shop the basement flooded which resulted in the loss of a big chunk of their stock stored there.  The local community have rallied round with new donation.  Their fund raising is, like all charities, so important and we happily support them in small ways.  Lots of small ways added toget
