Wet Saturday morning.

As you all know we have endured what seemed like a never ending thunder storm over the last 12 hours without a break, that is without yesterdays. Daisy dog has always been truly distressed by thunder, and gunshots, fireworks to name a few.  Anyone who has a pet who is this anxious will understand how worrying this is. With our dog, the reason behind this is she was discovered in a woodland area by two tourists.  She was tied to a tree, no houses around, no tag on collar, or chip.   No one knew how long she had been there, but you can imagine hunters, thunderstorms and anything else.  She was/is still scared of garden canes, fly swats, loud noise, to name but a few.  And she turns into a monster with her food thinking the cats are going to eat it.   We now give Daisy a ‘safe place’ to eat and slowly she is improving. The tourists untied her and took her back to their holiday home where they could feed and water her and clean her up. They heard about Polis Pound and took her down and sp

Hi everyone, what a lovely day.  Windows open, garden taking shape, pets sorted out, and a couple of Free cycles completed. I will try and make some sense of this ramble. Windows open. I absolutely love the fresh air, even in the cooler temperatures it is lovely to wrap up and get outside for a little while. Everything is so fresh and soft, I always feel so lucky to be living here. Garden. As the name of my blog suggests the garden is my place to breath, potter around, and muse about all sorts of things It is a place of peace and tranquility.   Not only for me, but Mr D has learnt to enjoy the whole thing and I always call him out to to inspect new blossoms on the orange tree, or flowers appearing on the tomato plant. Last year we had an amazing gardener who was an inspiration.  I will carry on his good work, even though I doubt he will ever see it. Pets sorted out. Well, only two of them.  Grumpy Honey, who is not so grumpy these days, was right as ninepence. Jazz, on the other hand,

What is our surprise today?

Next came the Teletubbies.  Absolute rubbish, but a big hit for the children who could sing along with their song.  “We are the Tubbies, happy boys and girls “ or some such thing. My goodness,  I feel a much better way for infants to have fun whilst subliminally learning something.   For about the last three weeks we have a surprises every day.  A lot of really lovely ones, and some not so great.  The not so great ones usually hit the bank account one way or another. One such account was my daughter came to Cyprus for a flying visit and stayed in a place in Latchi.  She was here with a friend, but she set a lunch date for just us two to get some mother/daughter time.  Fabulous. We arranged to meet a a restaurant in Latch.  I arrived early and
