My goodness, what a difference a year makes.

 This time last year I was out of action with a broken leg.

This year has had its ups and downs, but as usual, team Douglas pulls together to get through these things.

We are very aware of the challenges people are facing both here, our chosen home, and back in England, where things seem to carry on to the abyss.

Today has been a joy in many ways, without too much emotional stuff. 

Please keep safe and well and consider people who may be high risk to COVID.

It is my eldest brother’s funeral today. And I am completely unmoved. My daughter is going to the funeral. She barely remembers him from when she was little. There has been no contact between him and us since my mum died in 1984. There has, however, been some contact between his daughter with my sister and my daughter. My thoughts are with her. I am glad my daughter has gone today. Lines must be kept open. The weird thing is I am the only one left from the four siblings. Ho, Ho, Ho

 Happy new year to all my lovely people who take the time to read my blog.  I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy conversing with you. We have had an excellent time over the last few days, as they say “it just keeps on giving “. We had to make some last minute adjustments to our plans due to me standing on a dog biscuit and suspecting I cracked a bone in my foot, which limited my mobility.  After spending last Christmas with a leg in plaster I was determined not to have an X-ray as it would probably have to go to Paphos Hospital and be plastered again! I don’t know how many of you have had the misfortune of the place but In my most opinion it is worst place to end up. The joys of Osteoporosis are endless. Anyway, our planned Christmas lunch out were cancelled and it was a quick shopping run for goodies.  First class leg of lamb and descent size chicken from Pambos the butcher and his very pleasant team, fresh veggies including the much loved brussels from Katie...

Get ready for (predicted) coptic

 Hi everybody, I hope all my viewers are well, and enjoying spring. I have been busy with the garden on stage one of this year’s efforts.  Mainly focusing on flowers and the bird feeding station and water point. The feeding station took a while, but now we have maybe as many as 7 or 8 actually in the tray at one time, with the clean up brigade who keep the ground around tidy.  Sad to say no photos, you can hardly breathe without disturbing them. Funny thing is they seem to have their regular feeding times. Looks a bit like a loo, but it includes a bottle to keep their feed in. Our orange tree, which we have had for about four years, has masses of buds ready to burst.  Patience!   Not bad for a pot grown little tree. Not fab pics, but working on it We have spent a good half hour locking down the garden in readiness for tomorrow’s high winds.  Parasols, chairs, plant pots moved to safety, and so on.
